🥥 German Chocolate Brownie
Brownie Layer:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
Coconut-Pecan Frosting:
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 3 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease an 8×8 pan.
- Melt butter and chocolate, whisk in sugar, then eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.
- For frosting: Combine milk, yolks, sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Cook on medium, stirring constantly, until thickened (8–10 min). Remove from heat and stir in coconut, pecans, and vanilla.
- Spread over brownies. Let set for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
