🥥 German Chocolate Brownie

Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Coconut-Pecan Frosting:

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease an 8×8 pan.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate, whisk in sugar, then eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. For frosting: Combine milk, yolks, sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Cook on medium, stirring constantly, until thickened (8–10 min). Remove from heat and stir in coconut, pecans, and vanilla.
  5. Spread over brownies. Let set for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
