👩🍳 Steps
1️⃣ Make the Patties
- In a large bowl, gently mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape into 4 oval patties.
2️⃣ Sear the Patties
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add patties and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside (they don’t need to be fully cooked yet).
3️⃣ Make the Mushroom Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook for 6–7 minutes until softened and lightly browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for 1 minute to coat.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth and a splash of Worcestershire. Stir constantly until smooth.
- Simmer for 4–5 minutes until the gravy thickens slightly.
4️⃣ Finish the Dish
- Return patties to the skillet and spoon gravy over the top.
- Cover and simmer on low for another 5–6 minutes until the patties are cooked through and infused with flavor.
