1. Preheat Oven
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
2. Make the Peach Filling
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches (or drained canned peaches) with granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
- Gently mix until the peaches are evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to your greased pie dish, spreading it out evenly.
3. Prepare the Cobbler Topping
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the egg and mix until the mixture becomes crumbly. It should resemble coarse crumbs—not a smooth dough.
4. Assemble the Pie
- Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the peach filling.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the topping. This will help it bake into a golden, crispy crust.
5. Bake
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling at the edges.
