🍮 1. Classic Flan

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Caramel: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until golden amber. Immediately pour into a round baking dish and swirl to coat the bottom.
  2. Custard: Whisk together condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, yolks, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Assemble: Pour custard over the caramel.
  4. Bake: Place dish in a water bath and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45–60 minutes, until the center is just set.
  5. Cool: Let cool fully, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Invert to serve.
