Classic Sweet Potato Pie – Creamy, Spiced, and Southern Loved

👨‍🍳 Directions

1. Boil the Sweet Potato

  1. Place the whole sweet potato in a pot and cover with water.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 40–50 minutes, or until fork tender.
  3. Remove from heat, run under cold water, peel off the skin, and discard.

2. Prepare the Filling

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Break apart the sweet potato in a large bowl and mash.
  3. Add softened butter and mix with an electric mixer until smooth.
  4. Add sugar, condensed milk, eggs, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Beat on medium speed until completely smooth and creamy.

3. Assemble & Bake

  1. Pour the filling into your unbaked 9-inch pie crust.
  2. Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Cool before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled with whipped cream if desired.
