Classic Homestyle Meatloaf

  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix the meatloaf: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined — do not overmix to keep it tender.
  3. Shape: Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake: Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Rest: Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute and makes it easier to cut clean slices.
