- Place the cubed potatoes into a pot of well-salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 12–15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and break apart easily.
- Drain the potatoes thoroughly and return them to the pot. Add butter, minced garlic, milk or cream, salt, and black pepper.
- Mash and whip the potatoes until smooth, creamy, and fluffy. Adjust seasoning as needed, keeping the texture soft enough to spread easily on the plate.
