At a T-intersection, it’s important to know how the right-of-way rules work. In practice, when approaching this intersection, it’s important to know that in a traffic situation with three vehicles, the vehicle that cannot turn must give way.
Vehicles turning right or left must therefore yield to cars going straight ahead. After the car going straight ahead has passed, it must first yield to cars turning left and then to cars turning right.
Procedure
In this situation, the car that needs to go straight ahead has the right of way; only then may the others turn. According to the traffic regulations, the car that needs to turn right is the last to enter the T-intersection, unless otherwise indicated. Anyone who fails to comply with the traffic regulations—or rather, the traffic rules—can receive a fine of up to six hundred euros, five penalty points on their driving license, and a driving ban of up to three months, according to Article 145 of the Traffic Regulations.
