Baking and Serving
- Shape the Bread: Form the dough into a round loaf, or divide it into smaller portions if you prefer individual rolls. Place the shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between pieces if making rolls.
- Butter the Top: Brush the tops generously with melted butter. This adds flavor and helps create a beautifully golden crust as the bread bakes.
- Bake: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown. The loaf should sound hollow when tapped gently on the bottom, indicating it’s fully baked.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before slicing. This brief rest helps the interior set while keeping the bread warm and tender.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this bread warm with butter, honey, or jam for a simple treat, or pair it with soups, stews, pasta, or salads. It also works beautifully as a base for sandwiches or as a side for breakfast and dinner.
