Ethan Miller sped through the rain-soaked streets of Birmingham on his old bicycle, his backpack slapping against his shoulders. It was 8:45 a.m. — exactly fifteen minutes before the gates of Westbridge University closed. This was the moment of truth: the final exam that would determine whether he would graduate or have to repeat the year.

The light morning drizzle had turned into a downpour, soaking his jacket, but Ethan didn’t care. He had spent sleepless nights studying for this moment. Missing it was not an option.

Passersby walked by — a glance, a whisper, a recording on their phone — but no one stopped.

Ethan’s instincts kicked in. He slammed on the brakes, threw down his bike, and rushed towards the man.
« Sir? Can you hear me? » he said, shaking his shoulder. There was no response.

Ethan checked for a pulse. Nothing. Panic rose — but so did determination. With trembling hands, he called an ambulance, then began chest compressions, pressing steadily on the man’s chest as the rain pounded on them both.
