Shrimp & Mushroom Vol-au-Vent in Creamy Garlic Sauce

1️⃣ Bake the Puff Pastry Shells

If using frozen shells, bake according to package directions until puffed and golden. Set aside and keep warm.
These flaky layers are what give the dish its elegant, restaurant-style vibe.

2️⃣ Sauté the Shrimp & Mushrooms

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side, just until pink. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender.

3️⃣ Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir for 30 seconds to form a light roux.
Slowly whisk in broth and cream, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
Season with salt and black pepper.

4️⃣ Combine & Simmer

Return shrimp to the skillet and gently toss to coat in the sauce.
Simmer 1–2 minutes, just until shrimp are warmed through and everything is luxuriously creamy.
