- Caramelize the onions:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown. Add garlic and cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant. - Brown the beef:
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed. - Season the filling:
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to develop. - Toast the buns:
While the beef simmers, preheat the broiler. Place hamburger buns, cut side up, on a baking sheet and toast under the broiler for 1–2 minutes or until lightly golden. - Assemble the sandwiches:
Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with shredded Swiss cheese and place under the broiler for another 1–2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Finish and serve:
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and cap each sandwich with the top bun. Serve hot with fries, salad, or a pickle on the side!
