👩🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Salmon
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season lightly on both sides with salt and pepper. Set aside.
Step 2: Make the Teriyaki Glaze
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey/maple syrup, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, whisk the cornstarch and water separately, then stir into the sauce mixture.
Step 3: Sear the Salmon
- Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place salmon fillets in the pan, presentation-side down (skinless side or the more curved side).
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden and crisped. Flip gently.
Step 4: Glaze the Salmon
- Pour the prepared teriyaki glaze into the skillet.
- Let it bubble and reduce for 2–3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the salmon as it thickens.
- Continue cooking another 4–6 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
