Deep Hamburger Beef Sausage & Pepperoni Pie

  1. Preheat and prepare:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a deep-dish pie pan or 9-inch springform pan. Fit the pie crust or pizza dough into the pan, pressing gently along the bottom and sides. Set aside.
  2. Cook the meat filling:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and beef sausage until browned and cooked through. Break up the meat as it cooks. Add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  3. Season and sauce:
Drain excess grease if necessary. Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and marinara sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer on low for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld. Remove from heat.
  4. Assemble the pie:
Spoon half the meat mixture into the prepared crust. Top with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, half the pepperoni slices, and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Repeat with remaining meat, cheese, and pepperoni.
  5. Bake:
Place the pie on a baking sheet (to catch any drips) and bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  6. Cool and serve:
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped basil, parsley, or red pepper flakes if desired. Serve warm with a green salad or garlic bread.
