Dandelion Syrup – A Sweet, Floral Syrup with a Lemon Twist

Dandelion Syrup is a gentle, golden syrup made from fresh dandelion petals. Its mild honey-like flavor and subtle floral notes pair beautifully with lemon for a syrup that’s perfect on pancakes, toast, yogurt, or stirred into tea. A delightful way to capture spring in a jar!

🌼 Ingredients

  • 4 cups dandelion flowers (just the yellow petals)
  • 4 cups water
  • 2½ cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed preferred)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Harvest & Prepare Petals

  1. Gather dandelion flowers from a clean, pesticide-free area. You’ll need about 4 cups of blossoms.
  2. Using your fingers or scissors, remove just the yellow petals, discarding the green sepals and stems (they can add bitterness).
  3. Rinse the petals gently under cool water to remove any dirt or insects. Drain well.
