Classic Tater Tot Casserole (Budget-Friendly & Filling)

  1. Bake:
    Place the uncovered casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 45–60 minutes. The top should be golden brown and the filling should be bubbling around the edges when ready. If you prefer an extra crispy topping, switch to broil for the final 2–3 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  2. Serve:
    Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes after baking to allow it to set slightly. Scoop into generous portions and serve warm. This dish is filling on its own but can also be paired with a fresh salad or rolls.

Vegetarian Variation:

To make a meatless version, replace the ground beef with 2 pounds of fresh mushrooms, sliced and sautéed in 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil until tender and golden. Follow the remaining instructions as written.
